Inside a Pinup’s Jewelry Box – A Peek Into Melissa Misfortune’s Earring Collection

6 Dec

I often get asked for a peek into my extenstive closet and jewerly boxes so I’ve decided to do a series of posts showcasing my favorite pieces. First up is a peek into one of my 4 jewelry boxes. This one is full of nice, dressy earrings and vintage earrings.

This vintage pair was found at Incahoots in Flagstaff, Arizona. They are screwbacks and are great shape!

This pair was also found at Incahoots in Flagstaff, AZ. The clear rhinestones are nice and the black ones, not so much but they are real silver and look fantastic with a great wiggle dress!

This set is not vintage, I found these earrings at Target for just $4.99 for both pairs! What pinup doesn’t have a pair of faux pearl earrings? They go with everything! Not to mention, the dangle earrings in this set is really versitale, they go great with dressy outfits and casual ones.

Here is another set of vintage screwback earrings that was found at Incahoots. I like to wear them with a pencil skirt and a nice blouse. Normally, I don’t go for gold tone jewelry but the emerald green stones against the gold looks so great, I couldn’t pass them up!

This pair is one of my all-time favorites! They’re comfortable clip-ons, they’re great dressed up or down and look so cool on. These were also found at Incahoots.

This pair is one of my favorites for date nights and nights out. They’re kind of big but nice and light and add a lot to my outfit every time I wear them. I found these in the clearance section at Charming Charlie’s for $4, score!

Ok, so these aren’t earrings but they were in this jewelry box too. It’s not every day you find vintage sweater clips (I’ve also heard them called sweater guards) that are this cute and in such great shape! The purpose of these is to hold your cardigan in place (arms in sleeves or not). You clip them on each side, towards the top of your sweater and they look so pretty you don’t even need a necklace! You can find new and vintage sweater clips on Etsy and other sites but these were found at Incahoots.

I normally wear this piece with a different cardigan (trust me, it looks way cuter on that one) but it wasn't photographing well so this will have to do!

This next vintage pair is also a more rare find, they are clip-ons and screw-backs which means they are adjustable, comfortable and easy to get on and off. So if clip-ons hurt your earlobes but you like how easy they are to put on, look for a pair with both! I found these beauties at a craft bazaar that a vintage dealer was at and paid only $5 for them!

This pair of earrings is so classic and pretty. I found these at Target for just $7.99 and I’ve definitely gotten my money’s worth out of them!

Last but certainly not least, this was the first pair of vintage earrings I ever bought. I like to wear them with an up-do and they’re a great addition to my spring wardrobe. These were bought on Etsy.

I hope you enjoyed the first peek into my closet! Keep your eyes peeled, I’ll be posting another look into my wardrobe soon!

Jillian Danielson Photography – Girl’s Day Out

4 Oct

Like most of the things I have been up to the last few months, I meant to blog about this a long time ago. This May, I had the pleasure of shooting with Jillian Danielson during one of her group “Girl’s Day Out” shoots and again in September. I had a blast both times and wanted to share some of the photos with you!

Here are the ones from May. All photos were shot by Jillian with makeup and hair by Heather Riot.

Earrings and matching necklace were made by Hard Hearted Clothing (aka, me)

Kathleen Raye and I goofing around. 🙂

The photos below were done during Girl’s Day Out in September. Again, all photos are by Jillian Danielson but the makeup and hair was done by me.

More from the most recent Girl’s Day Out coming soon! I hope you enjoyed these photos as much as I enjoyed creating them with Jillian and Heather. Be sure to check out Jillian’s work on Facebook for more photos of myself and all the other lovely ladies that she’s shot with!
