The week before last I got some awesome news, I have now been published!! I am so very excited to share this news with you all since I have been working hard towards this goal since I started a year and a half ago and I hadn’t had any photos published until now. Well as it turns out, I have actually been published not once but twice! I never saw the message notifying me of the first one, which was in February and I’m glad I know now! Here’s a few more details for ya. 😉

This photo below is in Rabid Magazine issue #8 which is full of great articles and lots of gorgeous ladies. I am on the bottom left on the page. Go buy your copy today, click HERE to order it!

More info on the flyer below, obviously.

Lake Havasu Rockabilly Reunion 2011 (better late than never!)

22 Apr

Oh wow! I haven’t posted in a while! So, to pick up where I left off, Rockabilly Reunion in February was a ton of fun! (Read on, there are photos…) It was amazing that the Rockabilly Hall of Fame came out to cover the event since it is a smaller weekender. It may be smaller but it’s growing fast and I definitely see why they came out! The music was fantastic of course, I met so many great people, drooled over the cars, hung out with the lovely Kathleen Raye and entering the pinup contest was totally worth it. I didn’t win but I was a finalist, pretty good for my second contest ever! 😉 Congrats to Maritza Martini, Lisa Luxe and Maybelle Lee, you were all so sweet and looked flawless all weekend!

Booze Bombs were fantastic, just as I expected, and I am so happy they came all the way from Germany to play. Despite having seen photos and videos of Cash’d Out, I couldn’t get over how much he truly looked like him on stage. Not to mention, it sounded like we were listening to Johnny and June themselves. It was the last show High Rollers are ever playing, sad but what a way to go out!  Voodoo Swing, Rooster Coupe Deville, Deadbeat Daddies (haha, I love that name) and Bastard Whinos were all bands I had heard but hadn’t seen play before, they were all great live! Three Bad Jacks were bad ass as always and I’m looking forward to their show next month. How can a band that lights their instruments on fire not be bad ass? Last but certainly not least, The Moonlight Howlers killed it! Based out of Williams Arizona, this band should not be missed! If you get a chance to see them, do! They are all so talented, nice and Ariel (she is the drummer and sings too) always has amazing hair and flawless outfits. She is such a doll too!

While there, I shot with Cherry Club Photography and I am glad I did! They were fun, nice and professional. I am excited to shoot with them again. To see more of the photos we did, add me on Facebook here: http://www.facebook.com/melissa.misfortune

The vendors were great too. I got my new favorite jacket from Red Devil Clothing (I wear that thing everywhere and get tons of compliments on it), some kick ass Sourpuss and Rock Rebel stuff and got to meet Mary, the genius designer behind Vintage Suits by Mary! I looooooove her designs, they are so feminine, cute and sexy; I have my eye on so many of her suits! I feel great every time I put on the polka dot playsuit I got at the Reunion. It has a metal zipper, an adjustable strap done in the true vintage style (with buttons) and it has boning! Like I said, she’s a swimsuit genius.

Below are just a few candids and photos of the event (as well as the photos by Cherry Club Photography because wordpress is being lame), there are way too many to post here!
